After installing the EdgeSight agent (version 5.4) on XenApp 6.5 servers, the Session Prelaunch functionality in XenApp 6.5 stopped working.

The prelaunch session shows up in the AppCenter Console for a few seconds but then immidiately disconnects with the error message that “the application is not running”.

The process “CtxPrelaunch.exe” fails to start, causing the “application is not running” error message in AppCenter.  Weird!

After reading several posts about this issue, I was able to find this EdgeSight 5.4 patch which after installing, the problem goes away and Session Prelaunch works as expected (great XenApp 6.5 Feature!)

This drove me nuts! thank you for posting. I still can’t get 3.2 to work with PreLaunch

    Daniel,
Thanks so much for the post. This one drove me out of my skull in my Citrix lab for 2 days.
    Really appreciate it.
